Offering Internet hotspots at Borders as well as airport clubs and lounges gave them a huge boost. They were the first to offer the Blackberry with integrated phone and e-mail solution, and the first to introduce video messaging services in the US. In 2004, T-Mobile USA introduced ringtones which allowed customers to use actual music clips as their ringtones, a feature called HiFi Ringers.
T-Mobile has continued to offer a parade of phones, features, and services that keeps customers happy. The Sidekick phones, the Shadow, smartphones, kidConnect, awards from J. D. Power & Associates, and social service programs like Huddle-UP and the T-Mobile Invitational helped keep the company in the public eye as an innovative company with a heart. In 2007, T-Mobile joined with Google and other entities to develop the Android system.
