LG UN200 SABER Accessories
LB Saber Messaging Phone
The LG Saber is a basic feature phone that is primarily intended to be used for messaging. While it lacks many of the features of higher end feature phones and smartphones, it is perfectly functional for more basic applications like text messaging and making and receiving calls. With an incredibly low price tag, it is a practical choice for most anyone who is looking to stay in touch on a budget.
The Saber features an attractive bar design with rounded corners and a mixture of matte and glossy plastic. The dark gray color is a stylish finish, and the device's portrait orientation screen makes for a unique appearance. The screen has a resolution of 176 by 220 pixels and provides colors and clarity that are surprisingly decent for the price point. Designed as a messaging device, the LG Saber has a four line QWERTY keyboard with raised bubble buttons.
The keyboard is roomy and responsive enough to be comfortable even during extended texting sessions. Because the Saber does not have a touchscreen, navigation is done using a five-way control pad. Unfortunately the pad is a bit too small, and it can be difficult to use, especially for those with larger fingers.
The LG Saber has a rear-facing VGA camera, but photo quality is poor, and the device does not include a camcorder. Captured images can be shared via Bluetooth, multimedia messaging, or online. The device does include a basic web browser and GPS support. One of the biggest things missing from the Saber is a music player. With so many of today's mobile phones doubling as MP3 players, the lack of even a basic music player is a big drawback for many users.
Not surprisingly, there is also no video player. Call quality is on par with other lower end feature phones, and overall the overall voice clarity is pretty clear. When using the speakerphone, voices do tend to become distorted at higher volume levels. The battery offers up to 8 days of standby time or 3 hours of talk time.
In a world where most cell phones are judged on their ability to perform numerous tasks and serve as multimedia powerhouses, it can be difficult to find a good but basic device. If you are someone who enjoys texting but could care less about using your phone to take pictures, listen to music, or watch movies, the LG Saber is a good, solid choice. With decent call quality, a comfortable keyboard, and a low price tag, it is the perfect device for someone who is looking to get back to the basics of staying in touch.
