Motorola Droid Bionic

We've been talking about bionic men and bionic women for years. Now, thanks to Motorola, we have a bionic phone – the Motorola Droid Bionic, to be specific. One of the more recent Motorola phones for Verizon, the Droid Bionic is a 4G LTE phone that, like many other smartphones, can do just about everything you need it to do except brush your teeth.

The Motorola Droid Bionic has a slim design but a nice 4.3” qHD display. According to Motorola, it's the lightest and thinnest 4G LTE device currently on the market. Just because it's light doesn't mean it's a “lightweight,” though. The dual-core processor makes it uber-fast, as you would want a phone named “bionic” to be. For a smartphone – and a powerful smartphone at that – it has a surprisingly long battery life. A few other features of this bionic phone:

The Droid Bionic has a user interface that's similar to the Droid 3. Like the Droid 3, the Droid Bionic comes with Motoblur, a Motorola addition that automatically connects you to all your social media applications. Motoblur means you don't have to spend time logging in every time you want to use something like Facebook or Twitter.

The cameras on the Droid Bionic are perfectly competent; there's a front-facing VGA camera along with a LED flash camera on the back. As mentioned earlier, the Droid Bionic is also capable of recording HD video.

If there's any really bad news about the Droid Bionic, it's the price. Getting a Droid Bionic with a new Verizon contract means you'll be paying close to $300 – the same as what you'd pay for a new iPhone 4 with an AT&T contract. To be picky about the Droid Bionic, a lot of people also don't like the custom Motorola UI, and the display could be a little sharper considering how expensive it is.

The bottom line, however, is that the Motorola Droid Bionic is an awesome, fun smartphone that's expensive but will be worth it for many consumers.
