ZTE N860 WARP Accessories
ZTE Warp
The ZTE Warp from Boost Mobile is a smartphone that is a good choice for those who are in the market for an entry- to mid-level device without a contract. Unfortunately, the price is a bit high for the category, even among carriers that do not require a contract such as Boost Mobile. As a result, it is often overlooked for the more powerful devices on the market.
The ZTE Warp
The body of the Warp isn't very fancy in comparison to other devices on the market. The front consists primarily of the device's 4.3 inch LCD touchscreen when a resolution of 800X480. While it is no where near as bright as the AMOLED screens found on higher-end devices, it is still relatively bright and vibrant for an entry- to mid-level device. It is a bit less responsive than some screens, but it is still decent. The front of the Warp is also home to a silver earpiece speaker, and capacitive buttons for the basic Android features – Home, Menu, Back, and Search. The back has a rippled texture that makes the phone easy to hold on to and makes fingerprints a thing of the past. Measuring 5 inches by 2.7 inches by 0.5 inch and weighing in at 5.3 ounces, the ZTE Warp doesn't quite fit the current trend of ultra slender, lightweight phones, but it is very comfortable to hold and has a nice, solid feel.
The ZTE Warp ships with the Gingerbread 2.3.5 operating system, and it has very little bloatware slowing it down. Instead, the device offers a rather simple Android experience. Users can customize up to five home screens and enjoy all of the Google apps and services that are integrated in most Android-based devices. Since it is an Android, the ZTE Warp also has access to the Android Market that is filled with nearly limitless books, music, movies, and apps.
The camera on the device is a 5-megapixel shooter that is mediocre at best. The autofocus is slow to lock on, and the flash tends to make objects in the foreground look blue in low-light conditions. The video is also disappointing. It only shoots in VGA resolution, and movies shot with the device tend to play back blocky and poorly detailed.
With a 1GHz single-core Snapdragon processor and 512 MB of RAM, the ZTE Warp certainly isn't designed to perform at warp speeds. It's performance is a bit underwhelming, bug there is little to no lag when navigating through menus or launching apps. The device's 3G data connection matches up to the 3G offered on higher end devices.
