Wide Selection of Bluetooth Headphones & Accessories
Bluetooth is one of the handiest inventions of the wireless world. As cell phones became less expensive and consequently more popular, they also were used more and more by the average person, not just business people or the more affluent. Mobile phones also became physically smaller and harder to tuck between shoulder and ear while the user’s hands were occupied. Yet the more popular they were, the more consumers began to use them while shopping, cooking, painting their toe nails, and yes, driving.
This is where Bluetooth comes in. Hands-free communication is a great advantage to most users. It was first developed in 1998 by a Scandinavian company. It didn’t come into its present form until about 2005. At that point, it really took off and is now firmly entrenched in our culture. More than 50% of cell phone users also use Bluetooth.
Why is the device called "Bluetooth"? King Harald Bluetooth of Denmark ruled in the 10th century. In his time, the history books relate, Scandinavia was a war zone, torn by clans who constantly fought and feuded with one another. King Harald was very influential in uniting these many clans into a cohesive whole and bringing peace to Norway and Denmark.
The Scandinavian scientists who were working on the project decided to use Bluetooth as a code name, because the device is a short range radio link that helps electronic devices communicate. One of these scientists was also a history buff and saw a correlation between the king who helped warring factions communicate and the technology which simplifies communications and links different types of wireless devices.
MyCoolCell has a great selection of Bluetooth devices. Several different models and colors of Bluetooth equipment are displayed here on our pages. Various features are available. Some History Behind Bluetooth Headsets & Hand Free
We all know what Bluetooth is, a short-range radio link that helps our devices communicate, but did you ever wonder where the name came from? What in the world does "Bluetooth" have to do with your cell phone? Viking history books tell us that Harald Bluetooth was a 10th century king of Denmark. During that time in history Scandinavian Europe was racked with clan wars and feuds. King Bluetooth was influential in uniting the region and bringing a measure of peace to Denmark and Norway.
The scientists who developed the technology behind Bluetooth used the word as a code name for their project, thanks to the history-loving character of one of the developers. It was intended to be a codename only, but due to some marketing research details, and an approaching deadline, the working name became the actual name. It was felt to be a fitting name by the founders of Bluetooth Sig because not only was Bluetooth partially developed in Scandinavia, but the Bluetooth technology is able to simplify and combine various types of wireless communication. Unification of these different technologies such as cell phone, automotive and computer into a worldwide, secure and inexpensive radio frequency is a modern comparison to King Harald Bluetooth's feat of unifying Scandinavia.
The first edition of Bluetooth was introduced in 1998, although the product as we know it now didn't emerge until the middle of the next decade. It really took off by late 2005, and now Bluetooth headsets are almost universally employed by a wide range of users. Everyone from builders to business people, technicians to teachers, painters to plumbers, and nannies to nabobs are using this convenient wireless technology.
